TORONTO -- Montreal Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo and Calgary Stampeders running back Joffrey Reynolds are this year's nominees for the CFL outstanding player award.
Calvillo, who won the award in 2003 and 2008, had 4,639 passing yards and threw 26 touchdown passes this season. He led the Alouettes to a CFL-best 15-3 record.
Reynolds, who is looking to win the award for the first time, was the CFL's rushing leader for the second straight year. He finished with 1,496 rushing yards, 13 touchdowns and 431 receiving yards.
The Stampeders finished second in the West Division with a 10-7-1 record.
The Alouettes were nominated in all but one East Division category Thursday.
Defensive end Anwar Stewart is up for top defensive player against Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive end John Chick.
Slotback Ben Cahoon and B.C. Lions defensive end Ricky Foley are up for the top Canadian award.
Kick returner Larry Taylor is up for the special teams award against Jason Arakgi of the B.C. Lions.
Guard Scott Flory and Calgary tackle Ben Archibald will square off for the top offensive lineman award.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive back Jonathan Hefney is nominated for the rookie of the year award with Lions running back Martell Mallett.
The nominees were selected by CFL head coaches and members of the Football Reporters of Canada. The winners will be announced at the player awards show Nov. 26 during Grey Cup week.
