WINNIPEG — The CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders recorded a decisive sweep of their season series with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday.
The Riders beat Winnipeg 55-10 in Sunday's Banjo Bowl before a sold-out crowd of 29,533 at Canad Inns Stadium. Saskatchewan beat the Blue Bombers 29-14 in the Labour Day Classic played Sept. 6 in Regina.
The Roughriders evened their record to 3-3 in the Banjo Bowl, which is the second half of the home-and-home series between the provincial rivals. The Riders swept the season series in 2008.
Saskatchewan completed the 2009 sweep with a balanced offensive and defensive effort. Quarterback Darian Durant threw for a touchdown pass and rushed for another. Running back Wes Cates scored on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Durant and runs of one and four yards.
Slotback Andy Fantuz scored on a 34-yard touchdown pass from receiver Jason Armstead.

The Riders' defence limited Winnipeg to just one touchdown — a 35-yard run by Fred Reid in the first half. Saskatchewan also forced eight Winnipeg turnovers. Placekicker Alex Serna had one field goal for Winnipeg.
The Roughriders improved to 6-4 and share first place in the West Division with the Calgary Stampeders.
The Blue Bombers fell to 3-7, tied for third in the East Division with the Toronto Argonauts.
The Roughriders play host to the Edmonton Eskimos on Sept. 20, a game that is already sold out. The Blue Bombers play the Montreal Alouettes on Sept. 20.
