Yep; It's official, the Riders have re-signed Darian Durant.

Here's the media release.

RIDERS RE-SIGN DURANTGeneral Manager Eric Tillman announced today that potential free agent quarterback Darian Durant has re-signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Financial details of the contract have not been released."Re-signing Darian was, obviously, one of our top off-season priorities," said Tillman. "We actually agreed to terms a few weeks ago, but had to wait since any signing bonuses prior to January 1st would have counted against the 2008 cap.

Darian is a class act, smart, and he's very respected in our locker room. We are thrilled to have him back in green and white, and we look forward to watching him compete for the starting position. The contract is incentive laden, and, in that context, Darian was given one promise: he would be the lead rabbit at training camp, but he was also told that it was going to be an open competition.

Darian was playing terrific before his rib injury last season, and he's totally comfortable with that challenge and opportunity."In 2008, the third year Rider started four games for the Green and White where he completed 57 of 87 pass attempts for 817 yards and six touchdowns. Durant had a 65.5 completion percentage and the Riders were 4-0 in the games he started at quarterback.Durant finished the 2008 season with a 59.7 percentage after completing 77 of 129 pass attempts for 1122 yards and seven touchdowns. The North Carolina product also carried the ball 27 times for 204 rushing yards and one touchdown.
